Early Voting Information

Vote Early

Early voting is a process in which voters can vote before Election Day. All registered voters in Virginia are eligible to vote early in person, no excuse is required.

Know Before You Go

Before you head to an early voting site:

  •  Check your registration and make sure everything is correct on the Virginia Department of Elections Citizen Portal.
  •  Have your acceptable ID with you. This includes voter card, driver’s license, state ID card, and more.
  •  Check out the sample ballots so you can get in, vote, and get moving safely.  (These will be posted once available.)

Important Dates & Deadlines for Tuesday, June 20, 2023, Primary Election (If held)

  •    In-person early voting starts at the Office of Elections- Friday, May 5, 2023
  •    Deadline to register or update your information - Tuesday, May 30, 2023
    • Voters may register through Election Day, and vote using a provisional ballot.
  •    Last day to vote early in-person - Saturday, June 17, 2023

Important Dates & Deadlines for Tuesday, November 7, 2023, General Election

  •    In-person early voting starts at the Office of Elections- Friday, September 22, 2023
  •    Deadline to register or update your information - Monday, October 16, 2023
    • Voters may register through Election Day, and vote using a provisional ballot.
  •    Last day to vote early in-person - Saturday, November 4, 2023
