What are consumer utility taxes?
Electric and natural gas utility consumption taxes are paid by the consumer and are collected by the utility service provider. These taxes are based on the amount of electricity and natural gas consumed. The utility service provider is required by law to remit all consumer utility taxes collected to the taxing jurisdiction in which the services were delivered.
