Ashburn Man Charged with Shooting at Occupied Vehicle

Loudoun County, Va- An Ashburn man was arrested Friday night after he discharged a firearm at an occupied vehicle in the area of Armstrong Terrace. 

Clarence D. Swaim, 51, was reportedly involved in a domestic-related incident prior to the shooting. Around 10:40 p.m. Friday he apparently discharged a firearm into the air before discharging a round at a random vehicle in the area. The driver of the vehicle, who is not known to the suspect, was not injured.   

Swaim was taken into custody by the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office without incident and was charged with missile at an occupied vehicle, reckless handling of a firearm, and brandishing a firearm.  

Swaim is currently being held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center on no bond.
