VCE Loudoun Master Gardeners Present: Cemeteries as Gardens

MG Program Announcement

See how cemeteries first welcomed just the dead and grieving, and then became garden refuges full of life. Born out of necessity, cemeteries were among the first green spaces in cities. Now, some serve as backdrops to community events and even as habitats for cherished plants and animals.

Speaker Bio:

Maria Stewart is Master Gardener Volunteer with Prince William County, an Audubon at Home Ambassador, Stream Monitor, Bluebird Monitor, and member of Centennial Garden Club. She works as a full-time attorney, but enjoys getting outside as much as possible. She is always excited to share her knowledge and experiences of the natural world with others and welcomes opportunities to continue learning.
