On March 16, 2023, the Loudoun County Fire and Rescue Fire Marshal’s Office (LCFR-FMO) arrested three individuals in connection with a January 23, 2023, arson fire that occurred at 59 Clubhouse Drive, SW, Leesburg. The structure, formerly operated as the Clubhouse for Westpark Golf Club, was the subject of an ongoing investigation of other fires that occurred around January 9th of this year. While under surveillance, suspects were identified and a digital forensics analysis was completed, which supported the issuance of search warrants and arrest warrants by the Loudoun County Magistrate’s Office.
Marco Alexander Mendoza Monjaras of Leesburg, Elizabeth Caudill of Purcellville, and Adrian Mario Larrazabal of Leesburg are being charged with suspected violations of the Code of Virginia:
§18.2-90. Entering dwelling house, etc., with intent to commit arson by entering and concealing themselves in any building permanently affixed to realty with the intent to commit arson in violation of § 18.2-80 as an accessory before the fact,
§18.2-80. Burning or destroying any other building or structure by maliciously destroying, in whole or in part, or cause to be burned or destroyed, or aids, counsels, or procures the burning or destruction of any building,
§18.2-22 Conspiracy to commit a Felony for conspiring, confederating, or combing with another, either within or outside the Commonwealth, to commit a felony within the Commonwealth.
All three individuals are being held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center and are awaiting arraignment.
