Loudoun County, VA (November 28, 2022) – The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is asking for your assistance. Please help make this holiday season bright for children at local hospitals by donating to LCSO’s Holiday Toy Drive!
The Sheriff’s Office has partnered with Cole's Closet, a nonprofit organization to help donate toys to fill “closets” with toys for children while they are at the hospital during the holidays. Cole’s Closet was created in 2002 by Ellen and Steve Tomczyk after they lost their six-month old son to an undiagnosed brain disease. The Tomczyks spent four months in and out of area hospitals where they experienced firsthand the anxiety and fear families face when a child is hospitalized. Ellen and Steve began a toy drive at a family holiday party one year after Cole passed. For more information about Cole’s Closet please visit www.colescloset.org.
The LCSO is asking community members to donate new, unwrapped toys to bring holiday cheer to children ages infant to the age of 17. Donations will be accepted until December 16, 2022, and the toys can be dropped off at any LCSO Station, Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. You can also make a donation directly to Cole’s Closet here.
Please drop off a new, unwrapped toy for children ages infant to teen at any of the locations listed below. Your donation will help make a difference in the lives of children with uncertain futures. For inquiries about donating, please contact us at (703) 777-0625.
