LCSO Recruits Take Top Academic Spots, Awards & Holds Leadership Roles During 134rd Session of NVCJTA

Loudoun County, VA- The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office welcomed twenty-three new deputies who took the top academic spots, received awards for firearms and driver training and held leadership roles during the 134rd session of the Northern Virginia Criminal Justice Training Academy (NVCJTA).

The new deputies are Kasey Alexander, James Bruchman, Sercan Cile, Jonathan Engler, Katherine Fischer, Joseph Garone, Thomas Hough, Samantha Ingle, Desoto Jordan. Rajesh Kumar, Eric Mbah, Kyle Moore, Brianne Murphy, Trevor Nelson, Justin Nyce, Michael Rivera, Lindsay Sayat, Kyle Smith, John Snow, David Sowers, Nicholas Tyskowski, Juan Vargas, Brian Vandermast.

During Friday’s graduation ceremony, Deputy Kasey Alexander was recognized with the highest overall Deputy’s academic score taken from grades achieved in the academic exams.

Deputy John Snow was also presented with the Thomas L. Shaw Award, which is the highest honor in the class and was awarded through a vote of his peers.

Deputy Brianne Murphy also took a leadership role in the academy by holding the positions of class vice-president.

After the ceremony, Lieutenant Coronel Robert Buckman along with the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office command staff congratulated the graduates and expressed their pride in their accomplishments during the session.

The NVCJTA provides training to agencies from the Northern Virginia area including the Arlington County Police Department, Arlington County Sheriff’s Office, City of Alexandria Police Department, City of Alexandria Office of the Sheriff, City of Fairfax Police Department, City of Falls Church Police Department, City of Falls Church Office of the Sheriff, City of Manassas Police Department, City of Manassas Park Police Department, George Mason University Police Department, Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, Metro Transit Police Department, Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Police, Northern Virginia Community College Police Department, Town of Leesburg Police Department, Town of Middleburg Police Department, Town of Purcellville Police Department.
