67 First Responders Graduate Fire and Rescue Training

Congratulations!

The Loudoun County Combined Fire and Rescue System (LC-CFRS) is honored to announce the graduation of 67 first responders who successfully completed various levels of fire and rescue training. On Wednesday, June 29, 2022, a graduation ceremony was held recognizing the accomplishments of these men and women who have committed to honorably serve their communities.

37 students completed the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) course, 5 completed the Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) course, and 25 students completed the Firefighter I-II course. In addition to their full-time jobs, schooling, and family obligations, the graduates dedicated countless hours over the last six months to their training and have achieved Loudoun County, Commonwealth of Virginia, and National Certifications in their respective program.

Loudoun County Fire and Rescue course instructors each designate one individual from their course as the top student. This student exemplifies leadership, dedication, academic success, punctuality, and their ability to motivate others. The top students recognized include Catherine Cottone for the Firefighter I-II class, Victoria Jia and George Short for their respective EMT classes, and Alexander Venuti for the AEMT class.

Loudoun County’s Combined Fire and Rescue System is incredibly proud of the dedication and service of our volunteer and career first responders. For more information about LC-CFRS visit www.loudoun.gov/fire or to become a volunteer first responder in Loudoun County visit www.OpenNewDoors.org.
