FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Loudoun County, VA (November 30, 2021) – The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary, auto theft, and larcenies from vehicles that occurred overnight in the Potomac Lakes community in the Sterling area.
LCSO Deputies responded to a home in the 46400 block of Springwood Court shortly before 4:30 a.m. November 30 for a report of auto theft. The homeowner was awakened by an alert from their home surveillance system. The homeowner went to further investigate and discovered his vehicle was missing from the driveway and that the subject had attempted to enter the home. The vehicle has since been recovered in the area. The keys to the vehicle were left inside the car at the time of the theft.
A second resident in the 46400 block of Saffron Court awoke this morning and found their home had been entered sometime during the overnight. It appears an unknown subject entered an unlocked car parked outside the home and used a garage door opener inside to gain entry to the home. The subject removed a purse from inside the home.
The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is also investigating larcenies from vehicles in the same area on Springwood Court, Saffron Court, and Oakhurst Court.
Anyone with any information regarding these cases or has potential exterior home surveillance video is asked to contact Detective J. Breeden at 703-777-1021, or via email at [email protected]. You may also submit a tip through the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office app. The Loudoun Sheriff app is available on the iTunes App Store and Google Play.
Residents are reminded to remove all items from their vehicle, including garage door openers and key fobs, when not in use. If your vehicle has an integrated garage door opener, please try to park your vehicle in the garage or well-lit area.
