LCSO Advises Residents of Current Fundraising Efforts of Local FOP

Loudoun County, VA- Recently the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office has received a number of inquiries regarding phone solicitations for a local chapter of the Fraternal Order of Police.

The Fraternal Order of Police Loudoun-Dulles Lodge #69 is currently conducting fundraising in the county. The fundraising efforts will not ask for a credit card or bank routing information when calling. If the pledge offered to the group is of a sizeable amount, they will provide a courier service to pick up the donation. In most cases they will ask the pledge be mailed to a local post office box in Leesburg, Va. More information on the organizations fundraising practices can be found here.

If you received a call from a person claiming to be with a Loudoun County chapter of the FOP and were asked to provide credit card or bank information, you are asked to contact Detective C. Perinis of the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Financial Crimes Unit at 703-777-0475.
