Annual Coat Drive Proceeds to Provide Much Needed Relief for Local Families
Leesburg, VA. - On Monday, December 10th, personnel from Loudoun County Fire and Rescue delivered almost 900 winter apparel items to Mobile Hope that will be distributed to local families in need.
Loudoun County Fire and Rescue recently partnered with the Loudoun County Career Firefighters Association, FC Virginia Girls Soccer Development Academy and Loudoun Friendship House to collect nearly 600 winter coats and over 300 additional items such as scarves, gloves, hats, and snowsuits to be donated to local families. Every fire and rescue station and facility in Loudoun County along with the FC Virginia Girls Soccer Development Academy and Loudoun Friendship House were set up as official drop off locations, allowing convenient options for residents to bring their gently used winter apparel for donation.
The partnership for the annual coat drive also included One Warm Coat and Mobile Hope Loudoun. One Warm Coat is a national non-profit organization that helps establishments such as Loudoun County Fire and Rescue collect coats and deliver them to local agencies. Mobile Hope will then work locally to distribute the donated items to families and those in need.
