FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE December 23, 2015 Contact: Kraig Troxell, Public Information Officer, 703-771-5278 [email protected] LCSO Recruits Take Top Academic Spots, Awards & Hold Leadership Roles During 133rd Session of NVCJTA Loudoun County, VA- The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office welcomed fifteen new deputies who took the top academic spots, received awards for firearms and driver training and held leadership roles during the 133rd session of the Northern Virginia Criminal Justice Training Academy (NVCJTA). The new deputies are Eric Armstrong, Derek Elmore, Benjamin Fornwalt, Christian Hockman, Robert Jacobsen, Nikki King, Jeremy Long, Hao-Chuan Lu, Ramon Rivera, Christopher Robinson, Kevin Rohrer, Michael Senal, Truong Tran, Justin Walsh and Colin Whittington. During Tuesday’s graduation ceremony, Deputy Christopher Robinson received the Directors Award for the Combined Basic Deputy Sheriff School for being first in his class in the session. This award is based on the highest overall academic score taken from grades achieved in the academic exams, firearms training, and driver training. Loudoun Sheriff’s recruits took the top three spots in this category. Deputy Justin Walsh took second in the class and Nikki King placed third. Deputy Hao-Chuan Lu received the Firearms Award for his proficiency during firearms training at the academy. Deputy Jeremy Long took third place in the class in this category. Deputy Long received the Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) Award with Deputy Eric Armstrong and Deputy Robert Jacobsen both taking third place in the class. Deputy Armstrong and Deputy Jacobsen also took a leadership role in the academy by holding the positions of class vice-president. After the ceremony, Sheriff Mike Chapman congratulated the graduates and expressed his pride in their accomplishments during the session. Sheriff Chapman also noted he is looking forward to the next class beginning January 2016 which will be among the largest classes of Loudoun Sheriff’s recruits in the history of the agency. The NVCJTA provides training to agencies from the Northern Virginia area including the Arlington County Police Department, Arlington County Sheriff’s Office, City of Alexandria Police Department, City of Alexandria Office of the Sheriff, City of Fairfax Police Department, City of Falls Church Police Department, City of Falls Church Office of the Sheriff, City of Manassas Police Department, City of Manassas Park Police Department, George Mason University Police Department, Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, Metro Transit Police Department, Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Police, Northern Virginia Community College Police Department, Town of Leesburg Police Department, Town of Middleburg Police Department, Town of Purcellville Police Department. ###
