A large crowd turned out to see the new facility first-hand and to take part in the dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony. “Much like the landscape of Western Loudoun, rolling hills, there were a lot of ups and downs with this project,” said Loudoun Sheriff Mike Chapman during his ceremonial remarks. “We wanted to make sure that Western Loudoun residents had the same level of services as those in Eastern Loudoun, Dulles South and Ashburn,” Sheriff Chapman added. The Western Loudoun Station will provide substantial public safety services to the community and reduce travel time for deputies to the Loudoun Sheriff's Office Headquarters in Leesburg. The station also offers a community room available for public use to local non-profit organizations. The dedication ceremony featured the presentation of colors by the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard and a stirring rendition of the National Anthem by Deputy First Class Joshua Brumbaugh. The Western Loudoun Station is the third of four planned stations for the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office. The Sheriff’s Office opened their first county-owned station in 2007 in the Dulles South area. The Dulles South Public Safety Center serves as a combined fire-rescue station and law enforcement station. The Eastern Loudoun Station was opened in 2010 and was the agency’s first stand-alone station. The Loudoun Sheriff’s Office is in the construction phase of a fourth station located in the area of One Loudoun in Ashburn, Va. Following the dedication ceremony members of the community took a self-guided tour of the new facility. The new Western Loudoun Station is located at 47 W. Loudoun Street. The dedication was held October 22, 2016. ###
