LCSO Seeks Potential Victims in Economy Blinds & Shutters Scam
Loudoun County, VA –Detectives with the Loudoun Sheriff’s Office Financial Crimes Unit are continuing to warn buyers in the market for new blinds or shutters of a recent scam targeting county residents.
Recently, the LCSO has received several reports recently of suspects claiming to be with a now defunct business called Economy Blinds and Shutters. The business closed in early 2016. The suspects are reportedly claiming to be representing the company and going to residents’ homes to take measurements and offer an estimate. The residents are required to pay a deposit for the required materials. Ultimately the residents lose their money and never hear back from the suspects nor receive any services or materials.
Anyone who has been a victim of this scam is asked to contact Detective C. Pickrell of the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Financial Crimes Unit at 703-737-8947. You may also submit a tip through the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office app. The Loudoun Sheriff app is available on the iTunes App Store and Google Play.
