LCSO Recovers $13K Worth of Stolen Merchandise
Loudoun County, VA –The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office arrested two subjects in connection with a suspected theft ring stealing items from stores across the region.
On February 22nd at around 6:00 p.m., deputies responded to the Dulles Town Center for a report of two subjects stealing clothing from the JCPenney store. Deputies made contact with the suspects and identified them as Akeem R. Askew, 27 and Lisa V. Cobbs, 38 both of Norfolk, VA.
Askew was arrested and charged with Possession of Burglarious Tools (Felony), Petit Larceny (3rd conviction- Felony), False Identification to Law Enforcement and Possession of Narcotics. Cobbs was arrested and charged with Possession of Burglarious Tools (Felony), Petit Larceny (3rd conviction- Felony), Petit Larceny, Forging Public Records, Two Counts of Identity Theft (Felony).
Further investigation revealed additional stolen merchandise in their vehicle that is believed to have been taken from stores outside of Loudoun County. Additional charges are likely.
Both Askew and Cobbs remain held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center on no bond.
