Loudoun County Parks, Recreation and Community Services Master Planning Process
The Department has contracted for a Parks, Recreation and Community Services Master Plan to provide a vision for Loudoun County. The outcome of the planning process will be a five to 10-year vision for parks, recreation, open space and trails. Key components of the master planning process include research, public involvement and the development of recommendations for all aspects of Department activities with a focus on facilities and capital improvements.
The Master Plan will:
Engage the community, leadership and stakeholders through innovative public input means to build a shared vision for parks, recreation programs and facilities in Loudoun County.
Utilize a wide variety of data sources and best practices, including a statistically-valid survey to predict trends and patterns of use and how to address unmet needs in Loudoun County.
Determine unique Level of Service Standards to develop appropriate actions regarding parks, recreation programs and facilities that reflect the County’s strong commitment to providing quality recreational activities for the community.
Shape financial and operational preparedness through innovative and next practices to achieve the strategic objectives and recommended actions.
Develop a dynamic and realistic strategic action plan that ensures long-term success and financial sustainability for the County’s parks, recreation programs and facilities and that supports the family-oriented community and businesses that call Loudoun County home.
