Immigration Policy Update

The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) recognizes the recent 2012 changes to Immigration Enforcement at the local level. Under the current Federal Immigration Law, a program called Secure Communities (later changed to the Priority Enforcement Program) was developed and now enables only federal officials, not state or local law enforcement officers, to decide what immigration enforcement action is appropriate in communities across the U.S. LCSO's method of enforcement is regulated by this federal law and program.
