Domestic Abuse

Verbal Domestic

This situation is classified as a verbal domestic when two or more persons (related by blood, marriage, or are co-habiting as a couple) enter in a verbal argument with no physical contact. This is not a violation of the law; however, it must be documented. It is important to remember that although no crime has occurred, it is possible to obtain an emergency protective order.

Domestic Assault

This is a situation when an assault occurs in the residence between two persons. The persons must be in a relationship or related by blood and live at the same residence. Special circumstances are involved with regards to the relationship or if the persons do not reside together. It is important to remember that the male is not always the predominate aggressor.
