Prior to the start of any Virginia General Assembly Session in Richmond, the Board of Supervisors collectively formulates and adopts its legislative priorities and position statements in an effort to better communicate and influence the actions of the Governor and the General Assembly. This adopted program serves as guidance for staff and the county’s contracted legislation liaisons during the legislative session.
The 2020-2023 Board of Supervisors will be discussing and voting on the 2020 Legislative Program at its January 7, 2020 Board Business Meeting. The 2020 Legislative Program will be updated following the meeting.
Similar to the state program, work performed by Loudoun County's federal legislative liaisons is guided by a federal agenda that is adopted on an annual basis. The federal program outlines specific projects and issues that guide work with Congress and federal agencies. The Board of Supervisors adopted its 2019 federal agenda on December 4, 2018.
