The Water and Wastewater Needs Assessment (PDF) (Needs Assessment) report, completed in 2011, included recommendations in the areas of planning, policy, and implementation. The purpose of the Needs Assessment was to provide an overview of existing water and wastewater issues in the County and identify communities with potential water and wastewater needs. The Needs Assessment was the first step in the systematic approach for addressing water and wastewater issues in the County.
On December 5, 2012, the Board of Supervisors approved (7-0-2, Supervisors Reid and York absent) the Water and Wastewater Needs Assessment Implementation Work Plan (PDF). The Work Plan builds on the Needs Assessment by systematically developing relationships, policies, and procedures that were necessary to address identified water and wastewater issues. The Work Plan included an implementation schedule which directed staff to provide progress updates to the Transportation and Land Use Committee (TLUC) every six months. Staff provided status updates on tasks completed to TLUC at its July 12, 2013, January 10, 2014, and July 18, 2014 meetings.
Work completed on each task has been documented in task reports. A description of each task is on the Work Plan Task Reports (PDF).
