Income & Expense Surveys

In preparation for the 2022 reassessment, as authorized by Virginia Code §58.1-3294, the Office of the Commissioner of the Revenue is requesting that owners of income producing property provide a certified statement of income and expenses for calendar year 2020.  This data is used to develop fair market value for tax purposes and is kept confidential in accordance with Virginia Code §58.1-3.

The deadline for submission of Income & Expense Surveys is May 31, 2021.  The links below will take you to the 2020 Surveys.

Downloading the Survey

The Income & Expense Survey is a fillable Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) document. To use the Survey, navigate to the link below and right click over the link.  Select “Save Link As” and save the file.  The Survey should be opened using the Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Pro program, not opened into a browser window  Please save the Survey before any data is entered.  The Survey is designed so that as data is entered, subtotals and totals will automatically calculate.  Once complete, email the Survey to the Office of the Commissioner of the Revenue by clicking the “email” button located at the top of the first page.

Property Owners Responsibilities

The Office of the Commissioner of the Revenue encourages all property owners to review the characteristics of their property at www.loudoun.gov/parceldatabase.  If an error is noted, contact the Office of the Commissioner of the Revenue at 703-777-0260 or [email protected].  Assistance is voluntary, however it helps to ensure that the property is appropriately characterized for fair market valuation purposes.
