The mission of the Loudoun County Post-Dispositional Detention Program (PDP) is to provide a disciplinary alternative to commitment through community-based programming and services to affect pro-social change on the part of the youth placed in the program.
The PDP is a multi-disciplinary alternative to commitment to a Department of Juvenile Justice institution. The PDP program provides community-based programming and services to effect pro social change and reduce the likelihood of recidivism.
The PDP Team includes trained staff from the Juvenile Detention Center, Mental Health Center, the teachers assigned to the PDP, and the JCSU. The PDP recommends, based on an evaluative matrix, youth who are statutorily qualified to be committed for up to six months at the local Juvenile Detention Center. The Court also determines, upon recommendation of the PDP Team, the various program elements and services which the juvenile is to receive.
