Auxiliary Unit
The Auxiliary Unit is a volunteer unit made up of people ages 21 and older. Auxiliary personnel provide services during public service events and assist law enforcement personnel in the performance of their duties. They may be assigned to conduct foot and vehicle patrols, traffic control, driver’s license and sobriety check points, child ID events, and other public or ceremonial events at festivals, shopping centers, parades, safety fairs, and community events.

The Business Watch Program is intended to curb crime and unlawful activity that may be taking place in commercial-business areas. The program takes a community approach to addressing crime in and around businesses.

Chaplain Unit
The Chaplain Unit provides departmental employees with spiritual guidance, comfort in times of crisis, and such assistance as the Chaplain is able to render in times of emergency.

Citizens' Police Academy

The Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) program is designed to reduce the number of mentally ill persons in the criminal justice system and ultimately reduce the time that law enforcement officers spend on mental health related calls.

Operation Inventory is a prevention based program intended to help curb the ongoing thefts taking place in Loudoun County.

Project Lifesaver
The Project Lifesaver program is an electronic based tracking system for people with medical conditions such as Alzheimer’s, Autism, or other conditions, that have a tendency to wander from home and become lost. The program allows Loudoun Deputies certified as Electronic Search Specialists to fit clients with a wristband transmitter that emits an automatic tracking signal. If the client becomes lost, the specially trained deputies will use a mobile antenna and hand-held directional device to help locate the client.

Operation Protect Livestock
Operation Protect Livestock is a FREE Sheriff’s Office effort to quickly notify livestock owners when their animal property break free from their fenced fields and wander into roadways.

Seniors Crime Prevention
TRIAD is a national movement which began in 1988. A TRIAD represents a three-way partnership among senior service agencies, law enforcement, and public safety providers, and seniors themselves— to address crime issues which affect the health and safety of these citizens. The three-part TRIAD teams work together to reduce the criminal victimization of the elderly to enhance the delivery of law enforcement services to older person.
