LCSO Deputies Join No-Shave November to Raise Cancer Awareness

Loudoun County, VA –
If you see some scruffy-looking Loudoun County deputies in November, it's for a good cause. The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office has joined law enforcement agencies across the United States in No-Shave November to raise funds for cancer research and treatment and educate residents about preventative measures.

For the second time, the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office has partnered with the non-profit organization No-Shave November providing deputies the opportunity to grow their facial hair to provoke conversation and raise cancer awareness. The non-profit was launched in 2009 and over the last eight years, the campaign has successfully raised over $3.5 million dollars to combat this disease.  This year’s event will fund organizations including the Prevent Cancer Foundation, Fight Colorectal Cancer, and St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

In lieu of shaving, each deputy growing out their facial hair contributed $25 to participate and every dollar donated brings us one step closer to fund cancer research and education, help prevent the disease, and aid those fighting the battle.

Deputies have already collected over $3,400 thus far and are asking residents to join the Loudoun Sheriff’s Office team or donate to a deputy to reach our goal of $10,000.  Please visit https://no-shave.org/team/LCSO1757 to make a donation. We appreciate your support and generosity!
