LCSO Seeks Public’s Assistance to Locate
Subject Wanted in Ashburn Shooting

Loudoun County-
Detectives with the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office are asking for the public’s help to locate a suspect wanted in connection with a July 29 shooting at an Ashburn apartment complex.

The suspect has been identified as Edgar Vargas, 30, of Ashburn. Vargas is described as a Black male, 5’9” tall and 185 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

On Sunday, LCSO Deputies responded to the 21000 block of Green Stable Square in Ashburn shortly after 9:10 p.m. for a reported shooting. In the incident, an adult male victim got into a verbal argument with the suspect while in an apartment. The suspect shot the victim in the abdominal area and fled. The adult male victim was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Anyone with any information regarding Vargas’ whereabouts is asked to contact Detective A. Perry at 703-777-1021. Vargas is considered armed and dangerous.  You may also submit a tip through the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office app. The Loudoun Sheriff app is available on the iTunes App Store and Google Play.
