Teacher Charged with Public Intoxication, Possession of Alcohol at Sterling Elementary School

Loudoun County, VA- A Loudoun County teacher was arrested today for public intoxication and having an open container of alcohol inside the school.

A Loudoun Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officer was notified by school personnel shortly before 2 p.m. December 1 that a teacher at Sterling Elementary School was possibly intoxicated. 

During the course of the investigation it was determined the teacher, Claire M. Bucher 25, of Potomac Falls, was intoxicated and had alcohol in her possession while on school property.

Bucher was charged with drunk in public and possessing or drinking an alcoholic beverage in a public school or on public school grounds during school hours. 

Bucher remains held until sober at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.
